What is .925 Sterling Silver?
The Short Answer:
Sterling silver consists of at least 92.5 percent silver and 7.5% percent of other metals like copper, nickel, or both. The reason for this is Pure Silver or Fine Silver, is very soft and very malleable making it easy to damage or bend. Other metal alloys like copper or nickel are added to the silver to make a more durable piece.
All items sold by Silver Superstore as “Sterling Silver” contain at least 92.5% percent Silver and are stamped with either “.925”, “Sterling Silver”, or both.

What does " w/stamp " mean?
As of April 2022, Fortessa is no longer stamping their logo in their flatware pieces. We do have some stock left of the stamped versions. If you are looking to match your older, stamped, pieces you will want to select the pieces denoted with “w/stamp”.

The Gio Ponti Table Knife, Hollow Handle by Sambonet measures 9.75" The Sambonet Gio Ponti stainless steel flatware pattern is a tribute to the twentieth century Italian designer of the same name. In 1939 the designer himself, Gio Ponti, designed this flatware pattern that features classic, simple lines and a square, straight edge bottom. Another feature is Gio Ponti's signature which is embellished on each serrated knife blade. This is a heavyweight pattern. The solid handle knife is especially heavy. This pattern is also available in silver plate. This pattern is also available in a matte finish.
